Appointments

All surgery consultations are by appointment and are available Monday to Friday morning and afternoon.  Surgery times vary from doctor to doctor and may change due to holidays or sickness. We are also open 3 evenings per week (Mon-Wed) from 6.00 to 6.30 p.m. for pre-bookable GP appointments only. Appointments can be made by telephone or at reception during opening hours.

We are an Advanced Access practice – our aim is to ensure that, wherever possible, patients can see the GP of their choice on the day of their choice. To make this work, we operate three types of appointment:-

Same day appointments

The majority of our GP appointments are bookable on the same day. Please call from 8:30am to book these appointments.

Advance appointments

A proportion of GP appointments can be booked in advance, as we recognise it may not always be convenient to attend an appointment at very short notice. A majority of nurse appointments are bookable in advance.

Telephone appointments

On some occasions, you may wish to discuss something with the doctor or practice nurse, such as test results or repeat medication, but you may feel it is not necessary to be seen. You may then ask for a telephone appointment. The doctor or nurse will phone you at a telephone number of your choice.

Check-up Appointments

If you have not been seen at the surgery for three years (or one year for those over 75) we would be happy to see you for a check-up appointment to update your records, blood pressure and other health information.

Cancelling Appointments

If you cannot keep an appointment, please contact the practice to cancel it as early as possible as another patient may need it. Appointments made online can be cancelled online if you are registered with patient Access.

Home Visits

These are for patients who are housebound or too ill to attend the surgery.  They are at the discretion of the doctor.  Whenever possible please try to come to the surgery as the doctor will have more time and better facilities with which to assess and treat you.  If a home visit is required please telephone the surgery as early as possible preferably before 9.30am.
